This brochure is the debut of a publishing program of the Center for Jewish Music, which operates as a part of the Jewish Community Center of St.Petersburg. The title deals with the Jewish Folk Music Society that existed in St.Petersburg in 1908-1919, its activities as an attempt to carry on the traditions of the national school of music that was first established by St.Petersburg Jewish composers and folklore scholars at the beginning of the century.
