This book was written in a genre of documentary prose. It narrates stories about the key figures of the Tomsk district and about the significant events of its 400-year history. The portraits of the governors and the members of town self-administration and deputies of the State Duma, merchants and engineers, architects and journalists are presented. The book is based on the materials of the State archive, old newspapers and publications from the Nicholas II epoch, rare and little-known documents.
