The presented work is an attempt to reconstruct the settlement conditions in the medieval settlement of Komarnanska, which - like the previously treated settlements of Novohrad, Tekov and Ostrihom - belongs to those historical regions that have not yet produced a detailed overview of medieval settlement in the entire time range, and not only in Slovak , but not in Hungarian or any other language.
The chapter on church organization briefly discusses its basic structure from the point of view of geography. It also contains a chronologically ordered list of the first mentions of individual churches, which also includes a detailed overview of the records in the list of papal tithes from the period 1332-1337. This is followed by a chapter on the economy, recapitulating mentions of mining, forestry, milling, fishing, markets and winemaking. A separate sub-chapter is then dedicated to infrastructure, namely roads and their associated bridges, toll booths and ferries or ports. The main chapter is an overview of the settlement structure. Separate sub-chapters belong to monasteries (5 locations), as well as castles and castles, which are recorded in written sources in the number of 3.
The most extensive part of the work is an overview of the history of individual settlements, while their number finally stopped at 245 basic and another 34 disputed locations. A total of 9 of these locations are mentioned at least once as a small town, but none of them had a long-term urban character. The penultimate chapter offers a brief overview of the family trees of the middle and lower local nobility in the total number of 106 noble families, followed by map appendices illustrating the individual preserved and analyzed metations and reambulations. The conclusion consists of a bilingual summary, bibliography and indexes of the Latin names of the Komarno settlements, as well as geographical names outside the Komarno See.
