The monograph presents the results of the interdisciplinary project on the history of marine fisheries of the White and Barents Seas. The analysis is based on historical documents from the funds of northern monasteries and public services, local press and scientific literature. The findings contain quantitative data on sizes of catches and fishing intensity; this to reconstruct the dynamics of populations of the important commercial fishes of the Russian North: salmon, herring and cod.
