'Uchilishte' is a modern Bulgarian novel written by Nacho Khristoskov. The story talks about the condition of present-day Bulgarian education, narrated through the eleventh-grade student Ani and the teacher Sharankova, who are the two main characters in it. The drama and the flexibility of the text bring a feeling of pain and antipathy, but also sympathy towards the real students and teachers. In an unparticular school, a mighty Headmisstres, helped by the Assistant Director and the Young computer scientist, tries to subject the students. The Politician, the Mayor and the Inspector also have her back. But will she succeed in breaking their criticism and disapproval? This could happen in any city, any school… maybe even yours.
'Nacho Khristoskov' s newest novel is a clear vivisection of the Bulgarian school. It was discussed in a literary studio in 'Plovdiv' Language School. It exited and brought a discussion among students and teachers. Isn't that what matters?', says Pr. Khristo Trendafilov.
