The author of this book is still amazed by a seemingly simple thought. About how lucky we, Belarusians, are with our President. How shaky was the only right choice that the Belarusian people made 30 years ago, in the summer of 1994. What if he had not run? What if we had not elected him? And a bunch of different (miserable) scenarios between these two - what would have happened then? The author is firmly convinced that Belarus as an independent sovereign peaceful and well-fed country would not exist by the time this book was published. And half of the population - too.
Such is the price... and it would seem that there was the right choice.
So we are lucky with Lukashenko. But he is a little lucky with us too. So, let's congratulate each other - and go on building a prosperous Belarus. Together. Together with him.
