The monograph examines the ways of realizing the problem of "man and time" in Kabardino-Circassian prose: the works of those authors in whose work the problem under study found significant expression are analyzed (A. Keshokov, S. Mafedzev, D. Arma, I. Adzhiev, Yu. Shidov, M. Adzinov). The work reveals the specifics of depicting a person in the conditions of the Caucasian War (fate, transformation of the people's consciousness); in the conditions of the totalitarian era ("mass man", "mass man", "little man", atheist); in the conditions of the post-Soviet era (overcoming collective consciousness, marginalization, immersion in the material world, overcoming atheism), in the conditions of globalization.
