This is a novel in two parts about the Reverend Stoina (1883-1933), a real-life Bulgarian clairvoyant and healer. The author Neda Antonova says that Stoina was God's messenger whose mission was to save faith. She was a prophet and a martyr. During the latter part of her life, Stoina lived in a room in the Church of St. George the Victorious in the village of Zlatolist, where she was often visited by people who sought help, advice or comfort. Upon her death, she was buried in the church yard. Antonova says: "This is a holy place, the most magical place in Bulgaria, where your soul will want to speak." The people considered Stoina a saint, although she was never canonized as such by the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
