This book is a reprint of the scholarly work "Materials for the study of the economic condition of the peasants of the Aleksinsky district of the Tula province" by the member of the Tula provincial statistical committee, the Alexinsky tax inspector N.S. Smirnov. The work was written in 1895-1898 and published in the "Commemorative books of the Tula province" for 1898-1890.
