This work is from the 17th and 18th centuries of the Ottoman Empire. By examining the economic world of the centuries, it reveals the relations of Ottoman Armenians and, through them, the global connections of the period. Focusing on the economic activities of the Armenian tradesmen, merchants, craftsmen and intellectual class, the study also investigates the ties of the Armenian merchant and intellectual group with the outside world. Armenians in the field of money changing in the 18th century. It details how they managed the financial and fiscal affairs of the state from the mid-19th century onwards. The work emphasizes the role of important Armenian families and elites, especially the Duzyan family. It also shows the level of wealth and fame of Julfa Armenian merchants, drawing attention to the key role of Armenians in the arrival of modern technology in the Ottoman Empire.
