Omer Rak was born in Sibenik in 1957. He is engaged in the multidisciplinary interpretation of prehistoric and historical symbols. He has published several works on this subject, most notably a study of the enigmatic Neolithic artifact: The Rhyton from Danilo: Structure and Symbolism of a Middle Neolithic Cult-Vessel (Juraj Sizgoric City Library, 2008) and an English translation of The Rhyton from Danilo: Structure and Symbolism of a Middle Neolithic Cult-Vessel (Oxbow Books, Oxford, 2011). He is the author of the novels Arkan Faust Vrancic Sibencanin (Fraktura, Zapresic, 2014), Kultna posuda (Fraktura, Zapresic, 2017) and Oneiricon (V.B.Z., Zagreb, 2022), the book of short stories Here, There & Trans (Litteris, Zagreb, 2023), the collection of essays A Century at the Beginning (Profil, Zagreb, 2009), and the monograph Stotinu godina OS Pantovcak 1908-2008 (OS Pantovcak, 2008).
