The album is dedicated to the stage history of the ballet “The Little Humpbacked Horse” and for the first time introduces the 160-year history of ballet based on fairy tales into the scientific all-Russian and international context. It presents a gallery of portraits and literary sketches dedicated to those who worked on choreography, design, staging and performance of ballet parts in different periods and on the most prestigious theatrical stages. Along with unique visual materials from the funds of the largest museums and libraries in Moscow and St. Petersburg: sketches of costumes and decorations by theater artists of the second half of the 19th - early 21st centuries, various documentary sources were introduced. It contains comments, quotations from pre-revolutionary newspapers and magazines, memoirs of contemporaries.
