The Karatun hoard of coins, found in 1986 in the Apastovsky region of the Republic of Tatarstan, is the largest hoard of the Golden Horde (Juchid) coins known to science. The treasure contains coins of almost all the Golden Horde khans of the XIV century, there are also imitations of the Golden Horde dirhams, coins of the Iranian dynasty of Jalairids, coins of Timur and his khans, several coins of Russian principalities, as well as one coin of the Trebizond Empire and Galician Rus'. The book provides a description of 2962 coin types for 24103 coins. The 74 tables contain drawings of over 1600 coins. Author: Fedorov-Davydov German Alekseevich is Doctor of Historical Sciences.
