The proceedings consists of a set of papers from the 18th Czech-Slovak Filmological Conference, which took place from 12 to 15 October 2017 in Krpacov. The main topic of the film conference responds to the traditional issues of realism, the depiction of reality in film. Papers in the proceedings deal with various historical and theoretical-aesthetic topics of fiction, realism, parameters of various illusory and anti-illusive tendencies in the history of cinema. The proceedings also include texts from a special panel of the Institute of Theater and Film Studies of the Slovak Academy of Sciences at a conference, the main topic of which was the transformation of censorship in Czechoslovak cinema.
