The book presents in-depth investigation of the events of the Caucasian war (1817-1864). In 1817 under the official declaration of "appeasement" Russia started the colonization war in the Caucasus and won it only in 1864. In the course of the war the Russian Army incurred losses of more than 100000 men and had to produce changes practically in all of the spheres of soldiery starting from the strategy to ammunition and traditions. Those changes were dictated by the realities of operations in the Caucasian Region thus underlying the inadmissibility of the European commonly accepted forms of the pressure tactics in the region.
