Being the first Russian monograph devoted to the study of Early Greek Tyranny on the Sicily, the book covers the whole history of the Greeks on the island in Early and Classical Times. Owing to various historical, archaeological and epigraphic sources the author M.F.Vysoky reconstructs all the peripetias of historical events in the area up to the liquidation of the last traces of the Tyranny in the middle of the Vth century B.C.
