This book is dedicated to the characteristic of blacksmithing of Finno-Ugric people. The characteristic is made on the basis of the analysis of a great number of iron monuments of native population of Volga and Cis-Ural regions. The traditions of iron-working manufacture are evolved. It was established that till the IXth century, in spite of different cultural contacts of Finno-Ugric people, the process of iron-working is not developed in domestic environment. Only when this people become involved in the sphere of transeuropean trade, essential changes in blacksmithing occur .
