The book is devoted to the history of setting up and functioning of the Freikorps (German volunteer troops). These troops had played a significant role in political and public life of Germany, especially, in neutralization of revolutionary movement in the country, in the formation of regular army, etc. Great attention is paid to the history of Iron Division of General Avalov-Bormondt, Russian and German volunteer unit which took part in military operations against the Red army at the northwestern fronts.
