The authors traverse the process of formation of Soviet statehood in the State-Oblast of the Don Host, notably, show activities of the Russian Communist Party (Bolshevists) in collaboration with the Leftist SRs, establish the reasons of power denial by the Don Nobility and the fall of the Cossack Class State (1917) as well as establishment of the Don Republic (March 23, 1918). Much emphasis is laid upon a complex process of transformation of the Don Republic into a full-fledged state.
