The monograph scopes "The Ostyak" collection from the museum of Anthropology Moscow State University collected by D.T.Yanovich in 1909. It is probably the most extensive assemblage of skeletal remains and material culture of the indigenous people of the Lower Ob region in the XIXth and early XXth centuries. The study holds much interest, for the region used to be a remote border zone that attracted both southern and western cultures.
