The book-album “The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the Collections of Great Britain” presents artifacts from three museum collections: the British Museum as the main historical and archaeological museum of Britain and one of the world’s largest cultural institutions, the Ashmolean Museum of Oxford University and the unique public museum in Glasgow, where the Burrell collection is housed. Each of the collections is interesting in its own way and reflects the great interest of the United Kingdom in the diverse culture of the peoples of Uzbekistan. Among the rarities presented are a jade bowl of the Samarkand ruler Ulugh Beg, portraits of the rulers of Mawarannahr on medieval miniatures and fantastically beautiful embroideries suzani and much more.
