The conference was organized by Smolensk State University, a branch of the Russian Historical Society in Smolensk with the support of the History of the Fatherland Foundation. The geography of participants is quite wide: they are researchers from Moscow, Bryansk, Kursk, Penza, Smolensk, Minsk, Grodno, Brest and Gomel, the conference also attracted the attention of researchers from the USA and Latvia. such conferences are necessary for the development of the Union State and a deep understanding of cultural and spiritual unity:

I really liked the first day of the conference, where the reports focused on the union, its history and key figures were concentrated. Russian colleagues do not quite understand what it means to the Belarusian people. The exchange of experience and opinions is very important for the correct building of a dialogue between our countries. ”
