The Church of the Nativity of Christ was built in 1381-1382. It is a typical church construction of those times, the embodiment of ascetic ideals, detachment and austerity so popular among monks. The interior of the church is covered with frescos, the specimens of the creative search in the XIVth-XVth centuries. The painting style is a successful combination of the two art schools, Moscow and Novgorod.
