The lovely Church of St.John the Divine is known as "Rostov Kremlin". Most of the kremlin buildings were erected in the late 17th century during the period of only 15-20 years by Metropolitan of Rostov lona, who had the funds for such a project. Graceful Church of St.John the Divine (1683) at the west wall was the last to complete the Kremlin composition. Original frescos on mythological, historical and religious themes were preserved in the interior of the church, which can be seen through photo illustrations.
