Putting aside prejudices, what is Roma cuisine really like? As you will see for yourself, Roma recipes are inspiring, diverse, created by generations of talented Roma cooks. For this reason I have selected a sample of 52 recipes - one for each week of the year. I drew from over 20 Roma cookbooks, the internet, and added my own and recipes from my friends. Most of them are from Slovakia and the Czech Republic, but also from other countries: from Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Great Britain, France, Spain, Italy, Croatia and India. Some are region-specific, others are repeated almost all over Europe. Dishes linked to nature, simple but also colourful, forgotten and contemporary, classic and highly original. I would be very happy if this book would help to change the stereotypical view of the Roma diet. Together, let's demolish prejudices and rediscover the charm of Roma cuisine.
