The proposed edition is dedicated to only one episode of the Crimean War (1853-1856) - the charge of the Light Brigade under the command of Lord Cardigan, carried out during the Battle of Balaklava on October 25, 1854. Based on a considerable number of historiographical sources, mostly little-known to the Ukrainian historical science, or even unknown at all until now, the book refutes or undermines a significant part of the manipulative statements and attempts at falsification, generated and cultivated to this day by the Russian science, about the "remarkable victory of the Russian army", "cowardly escape of British horsemen", "complete defeat of the Light Brigade", etc., which, due to certain circumstances, firmly stuck in the Ukrainian information space, in particular, due to the fact that Ukrainian scholars paid little attention to the study of the Crimean War and its particular moments.
