One day, many years ago, a man got off the train at the Sofia train station. He was greeted by a large crowd, who greeted him with bouquets and shouts. On the man's head stands a Borsalino-type bowler hat. The hat begins to think that the greeters gathered here just for him. But the poor bowler hat could hardly have imagined that he would travel considerable distances from the Bulgarian land and would happen through all sorts of vicissitudes in order to mark with his existence several existing periods and transitions in Bulgarian history. This is "The Bowler hat" by Yordan Radichkov. An exceptional text in which the author traces the historical changes in Bulgaria through the eyes of a bowler hat. It will be worn by a variety of noble and ignoble heads, will meet with many other hats and will reflect on what was the place of the bowler hat on the man's head and what changes have occurred with the replacement of his cap. For the first time, "The Bowler hat" is published in a stand-alone edition that seems to have always deserved it. For us, the question remains how a text so critical of historical realities before 1989 managed to break through the barriers of censorship.
