The Zakamskaya Line is a Russian fortified line in the Trans-Volga region, built in 1652-1655 to protect the developed areas of the Russian state from the raids of Kalmyk and Nogai feudal lords. It stretches from the Volga River to the Ika is a left tributary of the Kama River, in the modern territories of the Ulyanovsk region and the Tatar ASSR. In the first half of the 17th century, these lands were part of Ufa and Kazan counties.
