Humor and laughter are powerful weapons that have long been used by our people to survive the most difficult times in their history, including wars and national liberation struggles. The ridiculed enemy (both external and internal) no longer seems so big and threatening. Very often, our enemies are not specific politicians or countries, but defects of our own character, weaknesses, complexes through the prism of which the world seems to us to be imperfect or evil. Sashko Obrii's collection of poems "The Ax of Satire" actually emphasizes and hyperbolizes these imperfections of the modern Ukrainian society, which are sometimes too absurd and curious.
