Miriam Akavia's "The Autumn of Youth" moderately and authentically discourses upon the destiny of young Jews in the years of Nazi occupation of Poland - occupied Lvov, ghetto, search of friends, love and well. It seems that the authoress paints water-colors, and tragic history of the war years comes alive in bright transparent images. Despite the fact that people die around and its characters have to live under the threat of early death the novel is undoubtedly filled with life-asserting fundamentals.
