The book presents memoirs, diaries, photographs, and archival documents of participants in the combat operations of the 307th Assault Aviation Division. It recounts the formation of the division’s assault aviation regiments, chronicles of military campaigns, and the fates of the soldiers who served in its regiments and support units. The research is based on authentic archival materials from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the German military archives Bundesarchiv, as well as on front-line reports and combat journals. The publication includes, for the first time, the front-line diary of attack pilot Leonid Lukich Mayba, written with detailed accuracy, including dates and names.
