The monograph by a Russian political scientist is aimed to find reasons of social, economic and political crises in the 1990s. The author conducts research on influence of such factors as structures, institutions, processes, etc. on formation and change of the Russian post-Soviet political elite and influence of the elite on these factors. Political processes within political elite, social and economic situation in the state, regional aspect and some non-political social institutions are analyzed, as well as influence of the Chechen crisis on the subject matter.
