This book presents the reminiscences by Karl Denitz, gross admiral of the the Kriegsmarine (or "War Navy") during the Third Reich. In his memoirs the commander-in-chief of the naval forces of Nazi Germany describes in detail the policy in the sphere of submarine building, group underwater war tactics, the operation against Norway and struggle for the Atlantic. The last chapter is dedicated to Denitz as Hitler's political successor.
