This volume is written on the basis of the papers that have been produced during the work of the 9th Conference of Folklorists held by the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore on September 21-22, 2000. The Conference was devoted to the problems of comparative research method of Lithuanian folklore. The main theme of the articles, comprising "Folklore Studies" Volume XIII (XX), is Lithuanian folklore in the context of Europian traditions.
