Ukrainians have been remembering their "Kobzar" for two centuries and spread his image in various printed publications, statuettes, paintings and souvenirs. A special place is occupied by faleristics - various badges, metal ornaments, medals, badges, tokens, table medals and other products with the image of Taras Shevchenko or with a memorable event, anniversary, place that is directly related to him.
Volodymyr Bashchak dared to publish a book about badges, medals, tokens, table medals, coins, vouchers, which relate to the outstanding figure of Taras Shevchenko.
This book consists of sections in which the awards are grouped on a homogeneous topic. Most of the photos are from Vladimir Bashchak's own collection, some were provided by other collectors. Next to the photo is brief information: size (the first size - the height of the sign, the second - width, if round - the diameter), the material from which the sign is made, date of manufacture, description and information about this sign.
In the book, the author submitted about 1,500 photos of images of awards, medals, badges, tokens of Taras Shevchenko and about 200 photos of table medals made in Ukraine and other countries. Also presented are almost all known coins, banknotes, checks dedicated to the famous artist and poet Taras Shevchenko and some bas-reliefs and plaques.
A large number of faleristics, numismatics and medal art dedicated to Shevchenko vividly illustrates the incorruptible love and memory of the Ukrainian people for their indomitable fighter and great Kobzar of the word.
