The book tells about the largest peasant uprising - Tambov, which took place in 1918-1921 covering both the territory of the Tambov province and a number of counties of neighboring provinces. In the first part of the book, on the basis of documents from his own archive, the author popularly tells about the history of the Tambov uprising, which for a long time has been mistakenly called in the historical literature “the Antonov rebellion”. The second part of the book tells about collectivization and consists of documentary evidence collected by the author mainly in the 1980s, first published on the pages of this book. The publication is written in a popular way and is intended for a wide range of readers interested in the history of the 20th century. Reedition 2004 book.
