Documentary filmmaker and teacher Marina Razbezhkina was born in 1948 in Kazan. From the age of 15, she has been living in Sviyazhsk with varying frequency, where she made several films in the late 1980s. At the same time, Kazan artists and photographers constantly come to the island and work here. For the first time the text "Sviyazhsk Chronotope" was published in 2001 in the historical academic journal Ab Imperio in the section "Recent Mythologies".
