For the first time, the monograph summarizes information about the archaeological sites of medieval Sugdeya at the end of the 7th - first half of the 10th century, obtained as a result of archaeological research carried out from 1929 to the present day. All the components of the urban infrastructure (fortification, city buildings, religious buildings) are considered, the material culture of the urban population is studied and the main periods of the city's development are highlighted, which make it possible to reasonably analyze the historical development of southeastern Taurica in the early medieval period.
