L. Nikolov was born in 1954 in the Bulgarian village of Kiryaevo. He is the author of four poetry collections in Bulgarian. Some of his books have been translated into English and German. He has lived in America since 1990. The translator, Miroslav Nikolov, (b.1986) is currently a student at American University in Washington, D.C. His translations have been published in Modern Poetry in Translation, Oxford, England and Sirena, Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA, USA.
