A book about Stefan Stambolov (1854-1895), a prominent Bulgarian revolutionary and statesman, one of the founders of modern Bulgaria. The author believes that Stambolov's historic achievements and merits should not make us underestimate his mistakes and failures and blindly repeat the falsehoods about his role in the national revolution. We should stop being so lenient towards his statesmanship in newly liberated Bulgaria and we need to make an unbiased analysis of his earlier accomplishments as a freedom-fighter against Ottoman rule.
