Study of the initial stage of activity of the Stavropol district court as a part of judiciary system of the Russian Empire. Covered are the problems of interaction of administrative and judiciary bodies in Stavropol province, peculiarities of formation of judicial bodies in Stavropol in the XIXth – the beginning of the XXth centuries, features of legislative politics of the Russian Empire, which defined the institutional framework for the development of the judiciary in the Stavropol province. New judicial and legal institutions introduces in Stavropol with the reform of 1864 are also studied.
