New fundamental data on the spatial-typological structure and organization of the bird population of natural and transformed ecosystems of the Belarusian Lakeland are presented, the taxonomic composition, relative abundance and directions of its change are established, which are necessary for predictive assessment of trends in the state of populations of some bird species, which will allow determining the main approaches and urgent tasks. in the protection and use of resource, rare and biocenotically the most significant species of birds in the territory of the Belarusian Lakeland. As part of the creation of a fully functional GIS "Birds of the Lakeland", 2 databases of bird habitats and a database of water bodies of the Vitebsk region were formed. The publication will be of interest to specialists in the field of biology and ecology, as well as to students, teachers and schoolchildren.
