The monograph is dedicated to the descendants of the famous Russian writer and historiographer Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin. Particular attention in this publication is given to the life and work of the sons of Andrei Nikolaevich, Alexander Nikolaevich and Vladimir Nikolaevich. The book tells not only about the representatives of the Karamzin family, but also about their environment, family ties and, in general, about Russian noble society throughout the 19th century. It consists of essays that popularly describe the life path of their heroes in close connection with the lives of their closest relatives. The book is based on historical sources, archival materials and memoirs, it contains numerous documents and rare photographs, some of which are published for the first time.
