With the help of the recently unclassified documents, Russian historian V.Goldin traces the process of appearance of the Russian military emigration and its organizations, in particular, the Russian All-Military Union (ROVS), including analysis of its objectives and principal milestones of its history (1924-2004). The author does not omit elucidating the role of the ROVS in life of the Russian Diaspora, relations of its leaders with other emigrant organizations, as well as activities of the union in post-soviet Russia.
