The term "strict science" means pure science. Sociology is a strict science but it is different from the so-called "exact sciences" such as mathematics. Science can be strict, syncretic, hybrid, or quasi-science. Sociology is a strict science when it stays within its own boundaries and avoids dealing with matters in other fields. Sociological imperialism is when you wander away from scientific strictness. The boundaries of sociology are not fixed because it is a polyparadigmatic science.
