The publication is an attempt to consider the dialectics of the essence and existence of socio-cultural reality as the main source of innovative development of society. The results of a study of the rational and irrational components of this development are presented. A comparative theoretical and methodological analysis of modern post-non-classical philosophical and scientific methods is given, their fundamental difference from traditional or classical positivist, modernist and other methods and forms of description, explanation and forecasting of the development of modern social reality, its design and reproduction through education. Particular attention is paid to the study of material and spiritual, traditional, civilizational and innovative sources of this development.
