The monograph summarizes and updates the theoretical and methodological foundations for the study of disability and social well-being of people with disabilities, shows the evolution of social policy regarding people with disabilities, and develops methodological tools for assessing social well-being as a component of the quality of life of people with disabilities. Based on the analysis of statistical data, an assessment of trends in the disability of the adult population was carried out, the potential for expanding the participation of disabled people in the workforce was considered, and the benefits of realizing this potential for the disabled themselves and the state as a whole were determined. The results of measuring the social well-being of people with disabilities based on data from sociological surveys conducted in the Vologda region in 2013–2020 are presented. Tools are proposed to improve the social well-being of people with disabilities in terms of promoting their employment and social integration, and the positive effects of their use are substantiated.
