Itskhak Katsenelson was born in 1886 and died in May 1944 in Oswiecim. At the end of 1945 his poem was for the first time published in Paris in Yiddish. This brilliant writing represents a sincere confession of a person who experienced every chilling detail of his narration himself. Here frankness and spontaneity of a diary coexists with emotional irresistibility of art. Thanks to this book the reader has an opportunity to get acquainted with Katsenelson's poems translated into Russian.
