The main character of this book by the journalist, who has written a number of works about times of Stalin's repressions, is one of the bays on the coast of Tatar Strait, where in 1929 the first in Khabarovsk region camp for convicts was build. Maria Kuzmina, who personally visited this place to collect materials for her book, described many black marks in the history of a small village that continues living in a post-camp period.
