The present book continues publication of the scientific heritage, left by Aleksei Mikhailovich Salmin, who untimely deceased in 2005. Since 1991 he became an active figure in the Russian politics, but he was not a public person. He was an expert, consultant and a wise man. Still, he was recognized to be the leading Russian political scientist long ago, when the science itself existed in secret. The texts, suggested in the collection, were written at the turn of the 1970s-1980s in a genre of “portrait”, an intellectual and political one. As a rule, the number of copies was small. Titled “For Official Use”, they are an important document of the age, and are of great scientific value.
